title: fuck the people who treat innocent widows as outcasts!
date: Saturday, April 24, 2010

Today was utter boredom.
I guess I'm gonna stay at home the whole damn day :(

So.
I was like feeling damn disturbed last night.

Because, I watched Channel U last night, and there was some show.
It was about this Hongkong actress doing some show larh.
about/around the world.
forgot what the show's called ><

They went to India.

And I learnt that India widows are seriously mistreated -.-
they're like some sort of unlucky people. (不祥人物)
outcasts.

just because they do not have husbands. (who passed away/died in some accident)

There are like 33million Indian Widows.

even animals like cows, who cannot reproduce/produce milk are sent there!
I mean like, whatthebloodyhell?!

Even the sons (widows' sons, not cows') despise them and send them away.
there was this indian woman who said that her children dint contact her for 20 freaking years.

And, as older Indian guys are rich, they get to marry young/more wives. -.-
and OLD guys mah, so they die earlier, and many young women around the age of 18/19 are made widows. (so that increases the number of widows)
and are sent to some widow village. -.-

and have to beg for food as widows are not allowed to work, everyone despises them.
they're so poor that some are even forced to sell their own body..

But at the widow village, they can chant there at some place for like 3hours and get paid a small amount of (HK dollars is) 0.50cents?
But they are(have to be -.-) content with that.

Even if they are allowed to go, they have to bring their own food and eat alone.

If some young kid is married (arrange marriage) and the husband is way older, and dies early, the young kid would be made widow and live in shame for the rest of her life.

How terrible and unfair is that?
I seriously urge the damn custom/tradition/law whatever to stop this la, it's so freaking sexist in a way you know.
and stop the DAMNED ARRANGED MARRIAGES. AND EARLY-CHILD MARRIAGES! AND BURNING WIVES.

There was also another story,
where a woman's daughter was burnt alive..

The woman arranged her daughter to be married to a guy who was 3years older than her.
(so far, its' so-called reasonable except for the ARRANGED MARRIAGE -.-)

But, 9months later, she received news that her daughter was burnt to death.
Just because the dowry was not enough for the fucking husband.

The husband even mistreated his own wife, hitting her often.
He often demanded more money/dowry/whatever from the family until the family had no more.

When the woman made a police report of her daughter's death and went to the husband's house, shouting and demanding for her daughter, she was handed a container of ashes..

The woman was also very sad, as she was the one who arranged this marriage.

and the fucking husband was only jailed for 7 fucking years.
and after that, he married a richer woman and got more dowry. _|_

UNFAIRNESS CAN?

WIVES ARE MEANT TO BE DOTED ON LOVED.
NOT BURNT TO DEATH. NOR BEATEN.

FUCKING BASTARD.
